International Forum on HCH and Pesticides in Spain

From 3 to 6 November, international experts on Persistent Organic Pollutant (POP) pesticides meet during the 13th International HCH and Pesticides forum in Zaragoza, Spain. The main issue of this Forum is the consequences of mismanagement of Lindane landfills. Tauw as one of the founders of the International HCH and Pesticides Association (IHPA) actively participates.

Hundreds of researchers, experts, environmentalists and country representatives will participate in the event. As one of the founders of the International HCH and Pesticides Association (IHPA), Tauw actively participates. POP pesticides experts from Tauw present and organize a group of sessions on ‘Sustainable management of POP pesticide contaminated sites and landfills; Transfer of experiences from Bailin (Aragon), Viet Nam and EECCA countries.’

-       Sustainable management of contaminated Harbour sludge in Broekpolder in the Netherlands by Anton Roeloffzen from the DCMR Milieudienst, Rijnmond, The Netherlands

-       The importance of project management in soil remediation project / POP pesticides landfill rehabilitation projects by Flip Kips, Tauw

 

·       Session chaired by Flip Kips and Pedro de Miguel Sánchez

-       Viet Nam and the progress on sustainable management on sustainable management of POP pesticides contaminated sites by Vinh Hoang Thanh from the  Vietnamese Ministry of Natural Recourses and Environment

-       The Guidelines on the sustainable management of POP pesticides contaminated soil and sites developed in the scope of the UNDP / MONRE POP-pesticides project in Viet Nam by Boudewijn Fokke, Tauw

-       Remediation technology demonstrations on dioxin contaminated soil in Vietnam and their potential broader application to POPs contaminated sites byRick Cooke,  Man-West Environmental Group Ltd. in Canada

-       Collecting, Transporting, Storing and Destructing POP / PCB in Cement Kiln Holcim Vietnam, ARP on behalf of Geocycle, Vietnam by Ed Verhamme

·       Viet Nam and the progress on sustainable management of POP pesticide contaminated sites from the Ministry of Natural Recourses and Environment (MONRE) in Viet Nam and UNDP

·       A research on the potential enhanced biodegradation of Drin contaminated harbor sludge in the Broekpolder, Vlaardingen (Rotterdam NL) made by Malte Lessmann, Student of the Rhein-Waal University of Applied Sciences, Kamp-Lintfort (Germany)
