From the 10th until the 17th of October, 10 Tauw employees will participate in the Kenya Classic, a six-day sponsored bicycle tour of 400 km through Tanzania and Kenya organized by Amref Flying Doctors. Our Team Tauw has collected EUR 64.000 euro.
Amref Flying Doctors organizes the Amref Kenya Classic, a six-day bicycle tour around the Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain in Africa. Participants have to collect at least EUR 5.500 each to enter this tour. All donations will go to Amref Flying Doctors.
A team of ten employees Tauw has committed themselves to this sponsored tour and organized all sorts of activities. With the help of family, friends, co-workers and work-relations, this has resulted in approximately EUR 64.000 in donations for Amref! The Kenya Classic offers not only a sporting challenge, participants will also visit several projects Amref so they can see and experience where the money goes and what Amref achieves.
In 2014 Tauw has signed a sponsorship agreement with Amref Flying Doctors, a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving healthcare in Africa. Tauw supports with its sponsoring a project to clean drinking water and improved sanitation in southern Kenya.
