TAUW Group participates in the EU project 'GREENER - Integrated Systems for Effective Environmental Remediation' as part of the funding program Horizon 2020. On 1 April the kick-off meeting of the project GREENER takes place in Burgos (Spain).
The project team consists of 20 partners from Europe and China. The project GREENER (InteGRated Systems for Effective ENvironmEntal Remediation) is funded over a period of 4 years with a total of EUR 4.5 million, including approximate EUR 310,000 for Tauw.
Aim of project GREENER is the development of biological-based degradation methods for the treatment of polluted soil and water. Among other things, TAUW will support the GREENER partners in taking samples from contaminated soil and water for use in laboratory testing. In addition to this, TAUW accompanies the planning and implementation of pilot tests.
Horizon 2020, the EU's Framework program for research and innovation, is supposed to help translate globally competitive research into better growth and jobs. Participation is open to legal entities established in an EU Member State, an Associated State or a third country. In order to become a cooperation partner, there are a number of rules for participation. Participation is open to such institutions as universities, colleges, research institutes or companies. TAUW hopes to gain new insights and to expand the network by participating in this project.
