Tauw supports IDI Gazeley with Acquisition of 13 logistics warehouses from Eurindustrial N.V.

IDI Gazeley (Brookfield Logistics Properties), a leading global investor and developer of logistics warehouses and distribution parks, has early October 2015 confirmed the acquisition of a portfolio of 13 logistics warehouses in the Netherlands totaling more than 190,000 SQ M. The deal represents IDI Gazeley’s first investment in the Netherlands and is intended to form the core of a growing logistics platform in the country.

The portfolio was acquired from Eurindustrial N.V., a Dutch real estate fund, and includes 13 properties spread across the major logistics hotspots in the Netherlands including Amsterdam, Venlo, and Venray. The assets within the portfolio are currently leased to a variety of leading logistics and distribution companies, including UPS, Syncreon, Canon, and ND Logistics.
The total number of assets owned and managed by IDI Gazeley in Europe and China today stands at 1,249 million SQ M with the company now present in seven countries in Europe.


Environmental and technical advice

IDI Gazeley were advised by DTZ Zadelhoff and legal advice was provided by DLA Piper. Tauw and ChandlerKBS provided environmental and technical advice respectively to IDI Gazeley. The technical teams were directed by Tauw Germany who previously supported IDI Gazeley successfully in acquisitions in Germany. Tauw Netherlands provided a dedicated local team of environmental auditors supported by a pool of technical specialists. Tauw managed to meet the tight deadlines of the project through a dedicated and committed team that succeeded to deliver a solid environmental due diligence assessment.
