The Looping Group (“Looping” or the “Company”) is a Pan-European operator of regional leisure parks established in 8 countries (France, England, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Germany, Spain, Portugal and Croatia). Looping has the ambition to become the European leader in the regional leisure park market. Besides developing its own parks, the Company is seeking to acquire additional existing regional sites. Therefore, the Company recently acquired Drievliet, an amusement park in the west of the Netherlands.
To assess environmental liabilities and associated business risks in relation to regulatory compliance, Looping Group commissioned TAUW to perform a Phase I Environmental Due Diligence (EDD) assessment as part of the acquisition process.
The Phase I EDD comprised a desktop assessment of public records and site-specific documents disclosed by the seller, a site visit and interviews with facility personnel. TAUW further liaised with other transaction parties involved, in order to obtain the best result for the client within the transaction timeframe.
On 28 March 2024, Le Groupe Looping announced the successful acquisition of Drievliet B.V., the 19th park in their portfolio and the group’s second leisure park in the Netherlands together with Avonturenpark Hellendoorn. With the integration of Drievliet, Looping expects to attract over 6.6 million visitors in 2024.
“The qualitative and efficient support from Jeanine Helmink and her team from TAUW has been instrumental for Looping to complete the acquisition of Drievliet. TAUW has been a reliable partner on this project and we are looking forward to consider other opportunities with them in the future”.
